Jôf di Montasio / Montasch 2753 m 9030 ft.

What a Great Hike it is. I stayed Overnight at the Parking Lot Altipiano del Montasio - Parcheggio 1502 m 4927 ft. and was the First one to Start in the Morning to be greeted by the many Ibex on the sunny Meadowlands. There are several ways on the Lower Part and eventually they all merge into one Trail heading for the FERRATA SCALA-PIPAN Route, While the Lower Sections is only occasionally Cable Protected which is great, Not everything need to be over protected. The Highlight of the Route is the 70 Meter Free Standing Ladder Pipan to add some Spice to the Tour, followed by another Ladder. Once past that Section the Route turn in a Westerly Direction towards to Summit. There are fifteen Cabled and Ladder Sections and all marked, Once you reach fifteen you are very close to the Summit. A Summit Cross and a Bell mark the Summit, Great views in all Directions from the Second Highest Peak in the Julian Alps. Returned the same way back down while others parties just ascended. More Ibex on the way down as I was Scree Glissading down. A Highly Recommended Peak for everyone with a feel for Hights.
