A largish group of Loitering swots elected to join Cap'n Morgan's long ride to listen to his nobby lectures (probably in Latin) about dead poets, admirals and the such. An even larger group decided to follow Mr Sparkle on his short ride, which just left the riff raff element (all five of us) to follow TC on his medium ride.
We cycled via West Drayton to Poyle for coffee and bacon sarnies at the Fat Boys Cafe (with a bit of moaning on the way from Lawrie when we got caught on two sets of temporary traffic lights). We set off again via Horton, Datchet and Old Windsor to a new stop the Prince Albert in Windsor for lunch. Not bad but a bit of a wait for the meal to arrive (so we ordered more beer).
TC decided to take the long way back to Uxbridge so we went via Eton Wick, Dorney, Chalvey and Wexham to another new stop; the Stag at Stoke Poges. With no lady club members on our ride to hold us back, we made a half hearted effort to chat up the bar maid who was clearly not interested until I said that Lawrie was a millionaire. However, any hope of romance was lost when he scrabbled about with small change trying to gather enough coins together to pay for the coffee.
Coffees drunk we headed back to Uxbridge via Pinewood. Another great day out with Tony.
