10/27/24 - South Lake Tahoe Fall colors Trip ​1. Carson City Mills Park sunrise and Fall Colors ​2. Spooner Summit Fall Colors ​3. Logan Shoals Vista Point ​4. Folsom Springs Fall colors, peak now, was green or yellowish green last Sunday. ​5. Kahle Norrha Kid Playground about 3.5 miles Fall colors and bear watching. First time to do such Fall colors hike. One family sighted one bear about 5 minutes ago so that I hurried and tried to check out. Was not expecting so that trying to check out Fall colors. Suddenly sighted one big bear for seconds and disappeared. Found it again after a few minutes searching which quickly disappeared again. Then, found it and was looking at me for sometime before heading up again. Then, totally disappeared. ​6. Taylor Creek Bear Watching, looked like bear upon arrival as people were looking at something. Was told 4 bears earlier, with 2 bears in the creek which couldn't be sighted. Rangers advised they were heading to Cathedral Road side. Thinking to go there or keep waiting. Decided to check out broadwalk without out, except one gentleman showed us one mountain lion photo in midpeninsula one year ago. ​Should sighted 2 bears if not walked to broadwalk. Rangers decided to close the trail as bears were there. One big bear came in about 10 minutes. ​7. Caples Lake Sunset Lighting Watching, too cloudy so that not too good.
