From New Bridge car par following the River Dart to Spitchwick Manor, Leusdon and Ponsworthy, returning via Bel Tor and Dr Blackall’s Drive. A lovely walk with riverside, woodland and emerging onto open moor. Good paths, a bit of lane walking and one steep ascent. Great views of the Dart valley to the sea from Bel Tor on the return leg

This route includes a car drive to the nearest pub, the Dartmoor Inn, just off the A38 at Ashburton. Parking at New Bridge gets busy at weekends/holidays as it is often used by river canoeists. Get there early.
