Dirt work to repair overly exposed roots, rebuild/create grade reversals, and clear/add drainage has begun on the NL. This will take many hours to complete. The trail tread needed work before the rains of 2024. It now needs more.
The first location was close enough to the clay/road base pile Heather deposited at the intersection of the 286/NL/SL that we were able to wheelbarrow material.
The second location required us to dig a barrow pit. We found clay about 15 feet off the trail. We left the pit open, but covered with branches so no one will fall in. I want to use it to cover a few more eroded spots in that area. Then it will be filled and covered with tree debris.
