Started my Hike at Sella Nevea 1162 m 3811 ft. In the Morning up the Road to Rifugio Celso Gilberti 1850 m 6068 ft. Since there is no Cable Car operating this time of the Year. Decided to do the Standard Road Walk as i didn’t want to carry any Gear up there, Quiet frosty and Windy this Morning especially on the Northern Route and Via Ferrata. Uneventful Hike up to the Hut and dropping down the other Side just a Ascent a Scree Slope again eventually crossing the unseen Border and up to the Col and down into Slowenia to join the Standard Route starting at the Cable Car Station. Having covered a lot a Ground already but the Summit is still far away although I have gained most of the Elevation by now and it was just a matter to get around the upper Bowl along some Scree Slopes and Cable protected Sections. The Cold North Wind was picking up as I was at or near the the Ridgeline and I was glad not being at the Via Ferrata as I saw some Snow in the Northface and would have required some Gear. I passed over Kaninski Vršič which is marked with a Cairn and Trig. Soon after I was on the Summit and Highpoint of Monte Canin with a improvised Summit Cross and a useless Wet Summit Register. Haven’t Seen a Soul today on the Mountain other than a few Maintenance Guys getting the Skiing Area ready for the Season. Returned the same way back to the Parking Lot, This was also my Last Slovenian P2K on the List # 27 /27 and I am quiet Happy being able to Finish this Late in the Season.
